Visa Update: VFS Global Issues Update For Indian Visa Customers In USA

The VFS Global on Tuesday issues an update for its customers in the USA regarding the submission of applications at our Indian Consular Application Centres.

The VSF in the update stated that amid the Covid-19 situation in the USA it will not accept any in-person application for Indian Visas till further notice.

“Owing to the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) developments in the USA, our Indian Consular Application Centres will not be accepting any in-person applications until further notice,” said VFS Global in the update.

However, Indian Visa customers can still apply via post by the postal process or through emergency visa services which have resumed by the VFS in early December 2021.

Apply By Postal Process

You must complete registration on VFS Portal to submit your Consular application to VFS Indian Consular Application Centre (ICAC). Also before you apply by post, you must fill a consular application form online on the Government of India website.

Emergency Service

The Emergency Visa service is only for US passport holders of Indian origin and their family members required to visit India due to a genuine family emergency, such as a critical illness or the death of a family member. Documentary evidence will need to be provided.
