The VFS Global on Tuesday issued an important update for Canada visa applicants in India regarding the submission of their passports and collecting their decision envelopes.
“We have an important announcement for Canada visa applicants in India regarding walk-in services at our Visa Application Centres,” said VFS Global in a Tweet.
Update On Canada Visa Walk-In Services
In its latest update, the VFS Global said that effective 18 June 2022, applicants can submit their passports and collect their decision envelopes in person on Saturdays only at the VACs in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, New Delhi and Jalandhar.
It further added that these Visa Application Centres (VACs) will open on Saturdays only for the passport submission services and collection of decision envelopes. The VACs working hours on Saturdays will be from 9 am till 2 pm.
The Saturday service, according to VFS, is only for applicants who did not purchase the 2-way courier service.
It’s worth mentioning that until further notice, travel agents and representatives are not permitted to submit passports or collect DEs. On weekdays, applicants may continue to use the two-way courier service for passport submission and DE pickup.
Update On Biometric Instruction Letters (BIL)
Recently, the VFS has also issued an update for Canada visa applicants in India regarding the new directive issued by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) on the Biometric Instruction Letters (BIL).
According to the update, the expired Passport Submission Letters, and passports submitted beyond the 30-day validity period, will no longer be accepted by the IRCC.
This means, that once you receive the Passport request letter, you have 30 days to submit your passport. Administrative time for pick-up and delivery of passport to High Commission should be factored in within 30 days’ time.
