VFS Global enhances capacity by 40% to handle peak travel season rush

In order to deal with the peak travel season demand ahead for visas within the South Asia region, VFS Global, the largest outsourcing and technology services specialist for governments and diplomatic missions worldwide, is going to be enhances the capacity by 40% across centres in the region. VFS Global operates 17 Visa centres in South Asia and services 50 government clients.

According to Sanjeet Joher, Head – South Asia, VFS Global, the initiative has been taken to avoid any inconvenience for travellers. “We are fully ready . we’ve increased our staff capacity by 40% across the region. We are operating in two shifts from 8 am to six pm now. We even have a fanatical Customer Experience Manager altogether the centres to deal with queries for the height season ahead,” he said. Beyond the regular working hours, the Prime Service also can be availed from 6 pm to 10 pm, he added.

Joher said that the company keeps on updating and educating the trade (travel agents) and therefore the public about the processes so that “customers have a seamless service experience” at the centres.

Talking specifically about travel agents, Joher said that they hold roadshows for the trade to “refresh’ them with latest updates before every travel season. He said that it’s important the trade is sensitised about various value-added services just like the executive lounge, doorstep services, prime time services, etc.

Joher said that the ‘doorstep’ service of the VFS introduced in 2017 is fast gaining popularity in Tier-II cities of the country. This service is currently offered for 18 governments. He said that the doorstep services are often offered to corporate groups at their offices, for giant wedding groups at one place of their choice, etc.

Joher expects more client governments coming forward to increase doorstep services within the future considering the recognition of the service also because the geographical size of the region.

Despite the geopolitical and global economic and financial meltdown, Joher feels the Indian outbound traffic is strong as ever within the upcoming season as well.
