VBM Phase 7: Air India Announces Flights Between India And Australia

Indian national carrier Air India has announced their schedule of repatriation flights between India and Australia for November under Phase 7 of the Vande Bharat Mission.

As per the schedule posted by the airline, it will operate these special evacuation flights between October 31 and November 20.

The airline has also canceled the flights from Sydney to Delhi scheduled on 30th Oct, the Indian embassy in Australia informed.

On Friday Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced a further increase on the cap on the number of international arrivals after the national cabinet. 

“There will be more people arriving in Western Australia and Queensland next month: 140 more arrivals in Western Australia and 150 more arrivals in Queensland,” Scott Morrison announced.

Australia has also announced four special repatriation flights to bring back Australians stuck in India.

These repatriation flights are excluded from the international arrivals cap and are facilitated by the government rather than scheduled commercial services.

All services will be underwritten by the Australian Government and operated by Qantas on a cost-recovery basis.

  • Sydney to New Delhi on 25 October, 8 November, 22 November and 26 November
  • New Delhi to Darwin on 26 October, 9 November, 23 November and 27 November

The one-way economy fares will cost $1500 from New Delhi and travellers will be asked to quarantine at their own expense in Darwin.
