Vande Bharat Mission: Air India International Flights On 31 August

The Govt. of India has started the ‘Vande Bharat Mission’ on May 6 to repatriate Indians stranded all over the world due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), Govt of India has started flight operations to a number of countries from August 1 till month-end under the phase 5 of Vande Bharat Mission.

Vande Bharat Mission is currently in its 5th phase, during which around 500 international flights and 130 domestic feeder flights have been operated. The flights have brought back stranded Indians from 22 countries to 23 airports across the country.

According to the Civil Aviation Ministry, 4,273 repatriation flights were operated by the Air India Group under the Vande Bharat Mission till August 28, carrying over 5.67 lakh passengers. Of these, 2,139 were inbound flights carrying 3.86 lakh passengers and 2,134 were outbound flights with 1.80 lakh fliers.
