Low-cost Airline, Air India Express will recommence its Vande Baharat Mission flights between Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and India starting from 24th May 2021.
The airline in a series of tweets informed that its Vande Bharat Mission flights will connect Chennai, Delhi, Trichy, Bengaluru, and Kochi with Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur.
The flight service between India and Malaysia has been suspended since 27th April amid the huge surge of Coronavirus cases in India.
The flight service between the two countries has come as a relief to many stranded Indians, especially from Tamil Nadu and Kerala, who have been waiting for flight operations to resume. It must be noted that countries have banned flights from India because of the deadly coronavirus strain in the ongoing second wave of the pandemic.
Air India Express Flights Between India and Malaysia
1. Delhi – Kuala Lumpur – Trichy
Starting from May 24th to May 31st, Air India Express will operate 3 flights a week from Delhi to Kuala Lumpur and Kuala Lumpur to Trichy every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

The airline has scheduled to operate two flights between Chennai and Kuala Lumpur on 27th and 30th May 2021.

Air India Express has also scheduled to operate a special Vande Bharat Mission flight from Kochi to Kuala Lumpur on 29th May, the same flight will be returned from Kuala Lumpur via Bengaluru on the same day.

Air India Express has scheduled the maximum number of flights between Trichy and Kuala Lumpur, the airline has scheduled to operate a total of 14 flights starting from May 24th to June 01st.

Air India Express has opened the booking of all the above-mentioned flights, tickets can be booked through the Air India Express website, Call Centre, City Office, or Authorized travel agents.
Trichy airport director S Dharmaraj confirmed that Air India Express has sought slot allocation for daily flight service to Kuala Lumpur from May 24.
Sources from Trichy airport say that the diplomatic clearance on operating Vande Bharat Mission flights was obtained from the Malaysian government on strict norms.
Who can travel to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia?
Indian passengers cannot travel to Kuala Lumpur, however, Malaysian nationals are given exceptions provided they undergo quarantine for 14 days.
New RT-PCR Test Rule For International Travel
Starting from May 22nd, all passengers traveling out from India are required to have a negative Covid-19 (RT-PCR) report with a QR code linking to the original report. If any passenger failed to provide a negative RT-PCR test with a QR code they would not be allowed to board.
