As Christmas and New Year weekends are coming close, Uttarakhand is gearing up to welcome tourists to celebrate these beautiful holidays.

“As the weekends approach, especially just before Christmas, we welcome tourists and urge people to enjoy the holidays as per the government’s guidelines for COVID-19”, said Uttrakhand Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj.

Dilip Jawalkar, Uttarakhand Tourism Secretary, said, “Uttarakhand offers the spirit of Christmas that is snow. We are happy to see good query of tourists who are planning to visit our state in the coming weekend. With proper guidelines in place we are confident that people will enjoy their holidays like previous years.”

Sandeep Sahani, president of the Uttrakhand Hotel Association, said, “We are getting good bookings from people nearby like Delhi, Chandigarh and others. Various hotels are offering discounts and organizing themed parties and cake-mixing ceremonies to celebrate Christmas like last year.”

He further added: “It is very obvious that Covid has changed the scenario this year. We are making sure that the guidelines are properly followed by everyone involved and tourists too.”

Nainital Hotels and Restaurants Association (NHRA) President Dinesh Shah said, “We are getting good inquiries for the booking, but this year’s celebrations are slow due to Covid. Officials regularly check hotels and restaurants to make sure everyone is following the guidelines. “

Abhay Tripathi, a hotel manager near Jim Corbett National Park, said, “We got a good booking ahead of the long weekend. Tourists love our Christmas themed parties, music nights and more. We are making sure our place is well-sanitized and follows all government guidelines to stay safe amid COVID-19. “
