Uttarakhand Issues Advisory for Devotees Planning to Visit Kedarnath Dham

On Sunday, April 23rd the Uttarakhand government issued a warning to devotees planning to travel to Kedarnath Dham as part of the Char Dham Yatra.

The government has urged devotees to exercise caution and start the yatra only after consulting the weather forecast. This alert has been issued as a result of the recent snowfall and rain in Kedarnath Dham.

Advisory for Devotees

According to the government, intermittent rain and snowfall are continuing in Kedarnath Dham, and all the devotees planning to visit the holy site from India and abroad have been advised to check the weather forecast before heading out.

Additionally, the government has requested the devotees to carry enough warm clothes to cope with the cold weather.

The Uttarakhand Director General of Police (DGP), Ashok Kumar, has also urged pilgrims to be alert and begin their yatra only after looking at the weather.

The government has made adequate health arrangements on all travel routes and advised passengers to visit the nearest health centre if their health deteriorates during the journey.

Government’s Assurance

The state government is determined to make the journey smooth, safe, and uninterrupted for devotees. The travel arrangements are being monitored regularly from a higher level to ensure the safety and security of the pilgrims.

On Saturday, the Char Dham Yatra began on the auspicious occasion of Akshay Tritiya. The state government is making every possible effort to make the Char Dham Yatra smooth and safe for the devotees. The pilgrims will receive the best health services on the Yatra route.

Health Secretary’s Assurance

On the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Health Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat, Health Secretary Dr R.K. Rajesh Kumar is taking stock of the health services on the Char Dham Yatra route. In this episode, the Health Secretary is inspecting health units at various places by travelling to Kedarnath Dham.

According to the Health Secretary, the Health Department has made complete preparations during the Char Dham Yatra. Guidelines have been issued for the journey, and travellers have been advised to acclimatize their bodies to the mountain weather during the journey.

The government also welcomes all the pilgrims coming for the yatra, but at the same time, there is an appeal to mention any diseases like sugar, BP, heart disease, etc., especially for those above 55 years of age. The government will monitor such devotees through 104.
