The united states (US) is working on making the visa application process simplifier for the Indians. starting September 1, 2019, certain applicants will apply for a waiver from the mandatory interview. it may be noted that this will make the US visa application process shorter for the Indians.

According to the United States consulate, the initiative is aimed to cut back turnaround times for visa renewals and improve the customer service for visa candidates across India, as per the communication to travel agent association.

The important thing to notice here is that all those candidates who are renewing their United States visa, which is subject to certain conditions, and children below the age of fourteen, senior citizens above the age of 79, are eligible to qualify for an interview waiver. starting this month September 1, 2019, this can be done while applying for a United States visa.

However, the United States consulate and VFS global (which processes United States visa applications in India), didn’t reply to an email for comments soughttillWednesday, according to a national daily.

In its communication, the United States consulate stated that from September 1, all the candidates who are eligible should schedule an appointment date so that passport and visa applications materials is left at one amongst its eleven locations within the country. After that, a visa application centre worker can review the list of the documents before acceptive the appliance for delivery to the United States Embassy or to the consulate.

In seven to ten days of the submission, candidates will receive a choice on their case. according to the consulate, there can be cases in which an applicant must appear for an interview.

“If the applicant is required to come in for an interview, he or she must travel to the post selected for interview waiver processing,” it said in its communication. “Once documents are submitted, it is not possible to transfer cases between posts. Applicants who must appear for an interview will be notified on how to proceed,” according to a copy of the communication accessed by the financial daily.
