The US Consulates in Hyderabad on Thursday in a social media update said that it gets its new Visa Application Center (VAC) and also asked all applicants to visit the new location for their scheduled appointments, document submission & passport collection effective January 08, 2023.
The address for Hyderabad’s new US Visa Application Center is; Lower Concourse, HITEC City Metro Station, Madhapur, Hyderabad – 500081.

However, the consulate in another update said that there is ‘No Change’ in the address of the US Consulate in Hyderabad and all the visa interviews will continue to take place at its present location in Begumpet.

The largest US consulate in Asia is set to open in Hyderabad’s Financial District in the first half of 2023. The 12.2-acre consulate will have 54 visa processing windows and a variety of new features. The US has invested $297 million in constructing the new consulate office, which will be overseen by Jennifer Larson, US Consul General in Hyderabad.
It is worth noting that, the US Consulate General in Hyderabad, which opened in 2009, was the first US diplomatic office to open in India after independence. The US Consulate General in Hyderabad represents the US government’s relationship with Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Odisha in India.

Another good news for the US visa applicants in Hyderabad is the appointment wait time which was around 1000 days in late 2022 is now significantly dropped and the wait time for the most popular B1/B2 visas where the interview is required is currently only 261 days.
However, despite attempts by the US to reduce appointment wait times, students applying for US visas at the Consulate in Hyderabad are finding it challenging to secure slots, particularly those seeking to enrol in US universities for the January intake. A US State Department official recently said that the US is making every effort to reduce the wait time for visa interview appointments in India. According to the official, visa processing is recovering faster than expected and will return to pre-pandemic levels in the coming year.
