US Consulate General Hyderabad to Begin Operations At New Facility On March 20

The US Consulate General Hyderabad has announced the opening of a new state-of-the-art consulate building on March 20 at Nanakramguda in the financial district of Hyderabad. According to a press release issued by the consulate, this is a significant development for the US-India strategic partnership.

The US consulate will relocate from Begumpet to its new campus, a decade and a half after it first opened its doors in the Paigah Palace.

“The US Consulate in Hyderabad is moving. We will cease operations at Paigah Palace at 12 pm on March 15. We will begin operations at our new facility in Nanakramguda at 8:30 am on March 20,” said the US Consulate in Hyderabad in a Tweet.

A $340 Million Investment

According to the press release, the new $340 million consulate building represents a tangible investment by the US in growing the US-India strategic partnership. On March 20, the US Consulate General in Hyderabad will officially open its new facility located at Sy No 115/1 at 8.30 a.m.

Closure of the Paigah Palace Facility

The consulate’s current operations at the Paigah Palace will cease at noon on March 15, and the building will be closed to the public from noon on March 15 until 8.30 a.m. on March 20.

Emergency Consular Services

According to the release, US citizens who require emergency consular services between now (March 8) and 8:30 a.m. on March 20 should call +91 040 4033 8300. Starting at 8:30 a.m. on March 20, US citizens who require emergency consular services should call +91 040 6932 8000.

Non-emergency Consular Questions and Visa Services

Non-emergency consular questions from US citizens can be directed to [email protected]. Visa applicants with visa interviews scheduled between March 8 and March 15 should report to Paigah Palace. Visa applicants with appointments on or after March 23 should go to the US Consulate’s new facility in Nanakramguda.

All other visa services, such as biometrics appointments, “dropbox” appointments (interview waiver), and passport pickup, will continue to be provided by the Visa Application Centre (VAC), which is located on the Lower Concourse of the HITEC City Metro Station in Madhapur.
