Now, UK Embassy in India on Tuesday informed that it has begun accepting visa applications from young Indian professionals who meet the eligibility criteria for the scheme.

“Are you an Indian national between 18 – 30 years of age and want to live, work or study in the UK for up to 2 years? The first ballot for the new Young Professionals Scheme is now open,” said the British High Commission in a Tweet.

The UK High Commission in India in another tweet said that the The Young Professionals Scheme will now close at 20:59 hrs. IST on Thursday, 2 March. It further added that those in the queue at the time of the ballot closing will not be able to apply.

The Young Professionals Scheme is intended to provide opportunities for young Indian professionals to work in the UK for up to two years.

The Young Professional Scheme is open to people between the ages of 18 and 30 and is aimed at people who are just starting out in their careers or are already established professionals in their fields.

Who can apply for the India Young Professionals Scheme visa?

  • Be an Indian national or citizen between 18 and 30 years old
  • Be at least 18 years old on the date you plan to travel to the UK
  • Have a qualification at bachelor’s degree level or above (Regulated Qualifications Framework level 6, 7 or 8)
  • Have £2,530 in savings to support yourself in the UK
  • Do not have any children under the age of 18 who live with you or for who you’re financially responsible for

  2. If you are successful in the ballot, you will receive an invitation to apply for the visa.
