What is Digital Government in UAE?

The UAE’s Digital Government is a platform that provides government services and information to the public through digital channels. This system offers various services like visa and passport applications, bill payments, and business registration, etc.

Five Ways to Renew Your Emirati Passport

UAE citizens can now obtain, renew, or get a replacement for a lost or damaged Emirati passport through five different channels. These include using the;

  1. The General Departments of Residency and Foreigners Affairs/Citizenship Section.
  2. The Nationality and Residence portal (eChannels).
  3. The online passport service for citizens.
  4. The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP).
  5. Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah Airports.

24/7 Passport Renewal Facility

The passport renewal service provided at Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports is now available 24 hours a day. This means that if a UAE citizen loses their passport, or if it is damaged or expired, they can contact the UAE embassy or consulate and obtain a new one at the airport.

This service is aimed at making the passport renewal process much simpler for UAE citizens.

Validity of UAE Passports

It’s important to note that UAE passports are only valid for up to five years. When applying for a new passport, the national must submit three documents.

These include a family book or a copy of it, the original ID or a copy of it, and a recent personal photo. Additionally, citizens must return their expired passports to the authorities.

In conclusion, the Digital Government in UAE is providing convenient and accessible ways for citizens to renew their passports. With the round-the-clock service at Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports, UAE citizens can rest assured that they will be able to obtain a new passport quickly and easily.
