According to a media report, travellers to UAE can now request an extension for an entry permit online via the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customers, and Ports Security’s website or a smart app.
The official website of ICP also stated that travellers who meet all requirements and conditions may be granted the extension within 48 hours.
The length of the extension period is determined by the type of entry permit issued. The report also stated that the smart service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Apply for Entry Permit Extension Online
The extension period depends on the type of entry permit issued in terms of duration and the number of times the extension request can be submitted.
Travellers can submit the entry permit extension request by simply following below mentioned steps;
- Step 1: Register on ICP Smart Services or simply log in with UAE Pass
- Step 2: Apply & Pay Fees
- Step 3: Extend Permit
It is important to note that the sponsored person’s passport must be valid for at least 6 months, and tourist entry permits must be obtained from the relevant tourism company.
Entry Permit Extension Fees & Required Documents
The new regulations also specified the length of stay for visit entry permits. The period will be determined based on the purpose of the visitor’s visit and at the discretion of the authority, and it must not exceed one year.
