UAE Travel: Visitors Can Now Enter Abu Dhabi Starting August 15

Emergency, Crisis, and Disasters Committee of Abu Dhabi on Saturday updates travel procedures for UAE citizens and residents as well as visitors entering Abu Dhabi from abroad, effective from Sunday, 15 August 2021.

Till now, Abu Dhabi has only allowed UAE citizens and residents, and those who are eligible for a visa on arrival to enter into the country but now vaccinated and unvaccinated visitors from the green list and non-green list destinations can now travel to Abu Dhabi.

Moreover, the country has also reduced the quarantine period for unvaccinated passengers.

Abu Dhabi Updated Guidelines

As per the updated guidelines, all Unvaccinated citizens, residents, and visitors arriving in Abu Dhabi from green list destinations must take a PCR test on arrival without the need to quarantine, and take a PCR test on days 6 and 9.

While unvaccinated citizens, residents, and visitors arriving in Abu Dhabi from other destinations must take a PCR test on arrival, quarantine for 10 days, and take another PCR test on day 9.

Similarly, Vaccinated travelers arriving into Abu Dhabi from green list destinations must take a PCR test on arrival without the need to quarantine, and take a PCR test on day 6.

When arriving from other destinations, they must take a PCR test on arrival, quarantine for seven days, and take a PCR test on day 6.

It is important to note that the protocol applies to fully vaccinated UAE citizens and residents as well as visitors as documented on the Alhosn app.
