UAE Travel: Abu Dhabi Airport Resumes City Check-In Service

The Abu Dhabi International Airport’s city check-in service has reopened after a three-year hiatus, just in time for the busy winter travel season.

Passengers can now check in at a new facility located at Terminal 1 of Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal in Zayed Port. Currently, only Etihad Airways passengers can use the service.

Passengers can check-in up to four hours before their flight. They can check in their luggage early, get their boarding passes, and go to the airport with peace of mind.

If passengers end up with excess baggage, they have more time to get it back home rather than leaving it at the airport or paying extra for additional weight. When they arrive at the airport, they won’t have to spend time waiting in line for check-in and can go straight to the immigration counter.

Morafiq Aviation Services operates the cruise terminal’s city check-in services. Meanwhile, the City Terminal in Al Zahiyah, a convenient location for check-in, remains closed.

  • The fee for checking in is Dh45 per adult, Dh25 for a child, Dh15 for an infant, and Dh120 for a family of four.
  • The terminal is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. There is plenty of parking.
  • The cruise terminal is served by public buses number 9 (from Marina Mall) and 44 (from Armed Forces Officers Club).

Abu Dhabi Airport’s City Terminal will close in October 2019. After three years, passengers, particularly those from the mainland, can now take advantage of the cruise terminal’s check-in service in the city.
