UAE Golden Visa & Eligibility

The Golden Visa programme in the United Arab Emirates is a long-term residency visa that allows eligible individuals to live and work in the country for up to ten years. The program, which was launched in 2019, aims to attract highly skilled individuals, investors, and entrepreneurs to contribute to the country’s economic growth.

Golden Visa applicants must submit a variety of documents, including their passport, a coloured personal photo, and proof of eligibility, in order to apply for the long-term residency visa.

Notably, investors, entrepreneurs, top talents, scholars, specialists, outstanding high school graduates, graduates of accredited universities, and frontline heroes are all eligible for the Golden Visa.

Increasing Fees for ICP Services

Earlier this year, Traveobiz confirmed that fees for Emirates ID and visa issuance in the UAE had increased. The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP) has increased its service fees by 100 AED across the board.

The additional fee of 100 AED is applicable to 30- and 60-day tourist visas, Emirates IDs, and all other e-channel services.

Implications of the Entry Permit Fee Update

The revised fees for the six-month entry permit may have an impact on potential Golden Visa applicants, particularly those who are already facing financial difficulties as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Golden Visa program, on the other hand, offers significant benefits to successful applicants, including the ability to work and live in the UAE for an extended period of time, which may outweigh the initial costs.
