Despite the turmoil, one IndiGo flight (6E 1106) managed to depart from Dhaka to Kolkata around 5 PM on Monday.

Vistara Joins the Cancellations

Vistara has followed suit, cancelling all Tuesday flights to Dhaka from both Delhi and Mumbai. The airline has advised passengers to check for updates and rebooking options.

“#TravelUpdate: Due to the current political crisis in Bangladesh, Dhaka airport is temporarily non-operational. Customers are advised to check the flight status before travel,” said Vistara in a social media post.

The future of New Flights Uncertain

The situation has also cast doubt on recently announced flight schedules. Air India Express had planned to introduce six weekly flights between Kolkata, Chennai, and Dhaka starting early next month. However, the feasibility of these new routes is now uncertain given the current unrest.

Passengers Advised to Stay Informed

Passengers with travel plans to and from Dhaka are urged to stay updated on the latest developments. Airlines are offering support and flexibility to affected travellers, including waivers on rescheduling and cancellation charges.

As the situation in Dhaka remains fluid, airlines are prioritizing the safety of passengers and crew while navigating the challenges posed by the unrest.
