In order to express the travel and tourism industry’s anguish against the gross neglect of the sector in the recent economic stimulus of the government, the industry has decided to launch a social media campaign, #JusticeForTourism. The campaign is active from 11am, today.

“The plan is to make the campaign a top trending campaign on social media,” said a Tour operator from Mumbai who is leading the campaign. “We have the support of trade Associations like IATO, ADTOI for this campaign and have approached other trade associations in the hospitality and other verticals to support the campaign,” he added.

A section of the industry that feels strongly about the neglect to the sector in the economic stimulus felt that social media is the best platform to raise the voice.

Although the tourism industry launched a social media campaign #TourismMustSurvive earlier, the campaign lost steam mid-way through although it trended in top five in key cities in India. “We don’t want to beg for our rights to survive, we want to raise our voice in a dignified way,” he said.
