Busiest Global Airports in the World – March 2022

Atlanta and Dubai will remain the world’s top two busiest global airports in March 2022. However, Delhi jumps six spots to third place, now ahead of Guangzhou.

Tokyo Haneda re-enters the Top 10 Busiest Global Airports list in tenth place, just ahead of London Heathrow, which rises up eight places this year to enter the Global Top 10 for the first time. As a result, Jakarta and Shanghai drop out of the Top 10, leaving Guangzhou as China’s only airport in the Top 10.

The United States once again leads the list of the World’s Busiest Airports, with five airports accounting for more than half of the seats in March’s Top 10. Dallas and Denver, in particular, have risen 11 and 14 places, respectively, from their pre-pandemic rankings of 16th and 21st in 2019.

The expansion of US airports has come at the expense of Asian participation in the Global Top 10, since some of the major global airports of 2019, such as Beijing, Hong Kong, and Shanghai, have dropped from their 2019 positions due to travel limitations.
