Thailand Starts Visa On Arrival Facility For India, 17 Other Countries

The Royal Thai Embassy in New Delhi on Tuesday informed that Thailand has started the ‘Visa On Arrival’ facility for Indian passport holders from 01st October 2021.

Apart from India, Thailand has also allowed the passport holders of the 17 other countries and territories to apply for Visa on Arrival to enter Thailand at any international airport in Thailand from October 1, 2021, onwards.

However, all the travelers from the above-mentioned countries will need to apply for the Certificate of Entry (COE) to enter Thailand.

What Is Certificate of Entry (COE) to Thailand?

The Certificate of Entry or COE is a letter issued by the Thai Embassy or Consulate to allow a foreign visa holder to enter Thailand onboard a special repatriation flight, chartered flight, or semi-commercial flight.

This letter will be presented to the airline personnel before departure and to the immigration officer upon arrival in Thailand.

Quarantine Guidelines For Travelers

Fully Vaccinated Travelers

The quarantine period shall be at least 7 days for travelers who are fully vaccinated with vaccines approved by Thai authorities at least 14 days prior to their departure date. The approved vaccines are as follows.

  • CoronaVac (Sinovac Biotech Ltd.)
  • AstraZeneca or Covishield (AstraZeneca & University of Oxford / SK Bioscience (Korea) / Siam Bioscience / Serum Institute of India (SID)
  • Pfizer — BioNTech COVID-19 or Comimaty (Pfizer Inv., & BioNTech)
  • Janssen or Janssen/Ad26.COV2.S (Johnson & Johnson Services, Inc.)
  • Moderna (Moderna Inc.)
  • Sinopharm or COVILO (Sinopharm Co., Ltd.)
  • Sputnik V (Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology)
Not Vaccinated Or Not Fully Vaccinated Travelers

The quarantine period shall be at least 10 days for travelers who are unvaccinated and who are not fully vaccinated.

Children’s Under The Age of 18

Children under the age of 18 who are not vaccinated and are traveling together with fully vaccinated parents or guardians can be quarantined for the same period as their parents or guardians.

All fully vaccinated travelers from India who got vaccination in India are requested to submit a clear vaccine certificate generated by CoWin at the time of COE registration.
