Thailand: No Covid-Related Restrictions On International Travellers

Despite the rising number of Covid-19 cases worldwide, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has announced in an official release said that it has not imposed any Covid-related restrictions on international travellers arriving in the country.

TAT also added that because Thailand fully reopens and international visitors to Thailand are no longer required to provide proof of vaccination or ATK test results, no restrictions will be imposed on Indian visitors entering Thailand beginning October 1, 2022.

The Tourism Authority also stated that in order to ensure the safety of tourists, they will closely monitor any changes or keep updating COVID-19 protocol measures that may affect Indian visitors to Thailand.

Restrictions for Travellers from Thailand to India

In response to India’s updated Covid-19 travel guidelines and restrictions on passengers travelling from Thailand, the Tourism Authority of Thailand has urged all passengers returning to India to get an RT-PCR test within 72 hours of departure and upload the results to the Air Suvidha website.

Notably, in response to the rising number of COVID cases in other countries, the Govt of India has updated guidelines for visitors entering the country and mandated an RT-PCR test for visitors from Thailand and five other Asian countries including China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan and Singapore beginning January 1, 2023.

In addition, all passengers from these countries will be required to upload their reports on the Air Suvidha portal before travel.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand also stated that Covid-19 testing facilities are widely available and easily accessible in Thailand.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has emphasized that all tourism-related and business services in the country are fully operational and that tourism is back to normal with no restrictions on travel within the country.
