Thailand End Quarantine For Vaccinated Travelers, Reopen For Over 60 Countries Including India From Nov 01

Thailand Prime Minister, General Prayut Chan-o-cha announced that Covid-19 curbs in most parts of the kingdom have been eased from 1 November 2021.

The announcement comes to facilitate the wider country’s reopening to vaccinated visitors from around the world.

The Thai Govt has also adjusted color-zoning for different provinces and further relaxed COVID-19 controls up and down the country, particularly in the 4 ‘Blue Zone’ provinces – Bangkok, Krabi, Phang-Nga, and Phuket.

This means that the night-time curfew currently in place in Bangkok will be lifted from 23.00 Hrs. on 31 October 2021.

Thailand Eases Covid-19 Curbs

Moreover, starting from 1 November 2021, most businesses and activities in the 4 Blue Zone provinces will be able to resume “New Normal” operations.

These include all shopping venues, convenience stores, markets, cinemas and theatres, sports venues, hair salons and barbershops, massage and spa shops, beauty and aesthetic clinics, and tattoo shops.

Restaurants and eateries can also resume normal opening hours, and be allowed to serve dine-in customers alcoholic beverages. Meetings, events, and fairs can be also held normally with no limitation on the number of attendees.

Quarantine Free Travel For Vaccinated Travelers

It must be noted that the country is ending quarantine for vaccinated visitors from more than 60 countries. Starting Monday, fully-vaccinated travelers flying in from the U.S., China, Singapore, Japan, India, and most of Europe will be able to freely tour Thailand after testing negative for Covid on arrival.

It is the boldest step Thailand has taken to welcome back a slice of the nearly 40 million visitors it hosted the year before the pandemic and is billed as a “fight to win foreign tourists” as countries from Australia to the U.K. also loosen Covid curbs.

Thailand Blue Zone Destinations

Thailand has added 4 (newly designated) Pilot Tourist Destinations or blue zone provinces namely Central Region: Bangkok; and Southern Region: Krabi, Phang-Nga, and Phuket, as well as the designated areas in 13 other provinces.

Notably, the Blue Zone destinations are free from Covid-19 curbs, there will be no night curfew, and almost everything is completely open at such destinations.
