States change quarantine rules for domestic air travellers

Some state-governments have updated or say, changed their quarantine rules for domestic air travelers. Here are the changed rules.

Recently, in a bid towards easing inter-state mobility, Civil Aviation minister Hardeep Puri on May 20, announced the resumption of flights in a ”calibrated manner” starting from May 25.

So, States had announced varied quarantine and self-isolation rules for arriving passengers.

Such as- If a passenger found symptomatic will be kept in isolation and Covid-19 test will be conducted on them. Those without the pass will have to undergo a 14-day institutional quarantine. And more.

And now, some state-governments have updated or say, changed their quarantine rules for domestic air travelers.

Here are the changed rules:

GUJARAT ARRIVALS

GOOD NEWS! NO QUARANTINE FOR PASSENGERS WITHOUT SYMPTOMS.

  • Passengers without symptoms will not be quarantined.
  • If a passenger has an international/interstate/inter-district travel history or if they have come in contact with a Covid-19 positive person or if they have been advised by the Surat Municipal Corporation staff, it is mandatory to fill the Self Reporting Form at – https://www.suratmunicipal.gov.in/EServices/Covid19SelfReporting
  • It is also mandatory for all passengers arriving at Surat to install the SMC COVID-19 TRACKER App.

MAHARASHTRA ARRIVALS

GOOD NEWS! NO QUARANTINE FOR PASSENGERS STAYING FOR 7 DAYS OR LESS.

  • Passengers who intend to stay in Maharashtra for a period of 7 days or less shall be exempted from mandatory quarantine on furnishing details of their return/onward journey.

GOA ARRIVALS

GOOD NEWS! NO QUARANTINE FOR PASSENGERS WITHOUT SYMPTOMS.

  • Passengers without symptoms carrying a COVID-negative certificate by an ICMR-authorised lab issued within 48 hours prior to the date of travel will not be quarantined.
  • Passengers who are not carrying the test results are required to undergo the test by paying INR 2000 and ensure social distancing until results are declared.
  • Passengers without a residence in Goa should avoid coming, as no hotels or guesthouses are functional.  
  • All passengers should fill the declaration form beforehand or on arrival at Goa.

KERALA ARRIVALS I

GOOD NEWS! NO INSTITUTIONAL QUARANTINE FOR PASSENGERS WITHOUT SYMPTOMS.

  • On arrival, all passengers without any symptoms simply need to show their e-pass to the health department at the airport and undergo home quarantine for 14 days.
  • For your flight to Kerala you must carry an e-pass after registering your details in the state’s COVID Jagratha portal link – https://covid19jagratha.kerala.nic.in/home/addMedicalEmergencyPass
  • If you are travelling further to Tamil Nadu or any other State/UT, it is mandatory to obtain an e-pass of that specific state, without which entry would be denied at the state border.

PUNJAB ARRIVALS

GOOD NEWS! NO INSTITUTIONAL QUARANTINE FOR PASSENGERS WITHOUT SYMPTOMS.

  • All passengers without symptoms will be only be sent to home quarantine for 14 days.
  • For your flight to Punjab, it is mandatory to download and register on the Cova App  – bit.ly/3h3jPm E (Copy and paste into your browser to download the app)
