SriLankan Airlines Resumes Flights From India, Offering Buy One Get One Free

As you may already know that Sri Lanka has resumed acceptance of passengers traveling on Tourist Visa from India. With travel restrictions being eased, SriLankan Airlines has announced that it has resume regular flights from nine cities across India.

As per the announcement, the flagship carrier of Sri Lanka will operate;

  • Four weekly flights to Chennai
  • Three to Mumbai, and
  • One to Bengaluru

and is expected to introduce significant frequency enhancements.

Under the new schedules, the airline will also be resuming services between Colombo and the Indian points; Madurai, Tiruchirappalli, Thiruvananthapuram, and Cochin with flights once a week.

The airline will connect Hyderabad and New Delhi with Colombo with twice-weekly flights. The airline’s operations out of Chennai and Mumbai will expand up to five times a week and the Bengaluru-Colombo flight services will be increased to three times a week.

“We look forward to welcoming our closest neighbors yet again, so they may experience the variety that Sri Lanka has to offer,” said Kimarli Fernando, Chairperson, Sri Lanka Tourism

“Our country’s heritage, culture, wildlife, nature, beaches, and more have always proven to be popular among Indian travelers, and they will be able to visit destinations across the country while following the relevant health guidelines.”

Buy One Get One Free offer

According to a report of Times of India, Sri Lankan Airlines has introduced a buy one get one free offer for Indian leisure travelers on their Colombo return tickets. The offer will be up until October 31, 2021.

Passengers who can travel under Tourism protocol.

Only fully vaccinated passengers can travel under this category.

Travelers arriving in Sri Lanka on Tourist Visa must obtain Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) through www.eta.gov.lk following the protocols stated in helloagain (srilanka.travel)

Passengers who can travel under Tourism protocol are as stated below.

  • Indian Tourists
  • Foreign National including residence VISA holders
  • Dual Citizens
  • Sri Lankan Citizens

These categories of passengers will not require prior approvals from the foreign ministry but must follow operational guidelines of Sri Lanka tourism.

For passengers traveling on Tourism Protocol, there will be no mandatory minimum stay. If the day 01 PCR test result is negative the travelers are required to continue the rest of their stay at 3 stars or above category hotels.
