The Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) in an announcement said;

“Please be informed that issuing on-arrival ETA at the port of entry to Sri Lanka will be facilitated with immediate effect for tourists, who are unable to obtain ETA by online mode due to time constraints experience when arranging their journey to Sri Lanka within a very shorter period.”

Now international tourists can get an online ETA once they land at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo and the Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport in Hambantota.

However, to make tourists’ arrival hassle-free the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka is still advised to apply for an online EAT by the tourists where possible, prior to their arrival.

It is worth mentioning that the On Arrival EAT is available for all nationals except the passport holders of Afghanistan, Pakistan, Syria, Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Myanmar, Nepal, and North Korea.

The following documents are required to get an On Arrival Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA)
