SOPs For India Bound Passengers Under India Japan Air Bubble

The Embassy of India in Tokyo, Japan on Saturday shares Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) For India bound passengers for traveling between India and Japan under the Air Bubble arrangements.

In the SOPs the embassy pointed out Purchase of Ticket, Air Suvidha Registration, and Exemption from Quarantine for traveling from Japan to India.

Here are the SOPs shared by the Embassy of India;

Purchase of Ticket

  • India & Japan are now part of the ‘Air-Bubble’ system. Registration of passengers with the Embassy of India, Tokyo is no longer required, and bookings should be done directly with the concerned airlines.
  • Air India has announced its Air Bubble Schedule from Delhi to Tokyo w.e.f. 2nd November 2020, to 28th December 2020, and from Tokyo to Delhi w.e.f. 4th November 2020 to 30th December 2020.

  • “No Objection” from the Embassy to travel by the ‘Air Bubble’ flights to India is not required.

Air Suvidha Registration

  1. Air Suvidha registration is convenient and is recommended. Passengers may register and carry a printout of registration before check-in. The link for registration on Air Suvidha is https://www.newdelhiairport.in/airsuvidha/apho-registration.
  2. Filling and submission of the Consent Letter are no longer required by passengers traveling to Delhi.

Air Suvidha (Exemption from Quarantine)

As per GOI rules, seven days of institutional quarantine is mandatory at the first port of landing. However, if you intend to seek exemption from this, an RT-PCR test should have been conducted within 96 hours prior to undertaking the journey.

You may upload the result on the Air Suvidha portal 72 hours before flying, and carry along the original test report to be produced before health officials upon arrival at the first port of entry.

Quarantine

For quarantine and all other health/COVID-19 related matters, guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare shall continue to be strictly adhered to.
