Want to go on a trip to Goa but afraid of State’s 14 days quarantine rule? Don’t worry. Now you can skip that in just a one condition. Here is how…

So, as we all know, the Airport Authority of India has made 14 days home or paid institutional quarantine mandatory for all arriving passengers in Goa.

But the new guidelines have also mentioned that “Passengers shall be exempted from home quarantine in below cases: Passenger is able to produce a Covid-negative certificate issued by ICMR recognized lab, not older than 48 hours prior to the arrival in Goa.”

That means one can easily skip the 14 days quarantine if he/she have a Covid-negative report issued by a ICMR recognized lab.

But do remember that, the report should not be older than 48 hours prior to the arrival in Goa.

In case a passenger lands without a Covid-negative certificate then he/she can agree to a swab test upon arrival at a cost of INR 2000 and should remain in paid institutional or home quarantine till the availability of a test result.

Only if found negative can they travel around.

However, if a passenger is found to be Covid positive, the AAI directive lays down, “In case any tourist is found positive, the accommodation unit will act as per the extant protocol issued by the state health department. All costs for COVID-19 test including the stay at the isolation /quarantine facilities shall be borne by the tourists themselves.

And there are also some points from the guideline that you must pin in your mind:

  • All travelers will need to come with a pre-booked accommodation, which should be hotels registered with the Tourism department and the booking proof for the entire duration of stay would be checked at the entry points.
  • All the travelers will have to undergo basic screening at the entry point.
  • Exhibiting sickness or Covid-related symptoms upon arrival will be subjected to a paid Covid test at designated testing centres/hospitals.
  • Passengers must prove their health status via the Aarogya Setu mobile app or a self-declaration form.
