The kingdom will lift all travel restrictions for citizens on January 1, 2021, it said.

Saudi Arabia suspended international flights in March to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Exceptional categories are:
  • Public and military sector employees,
  • Diplomats and their families,
  • Those who work for public or non-profit private sector jobs abroad,
  • Business people,
  • Patients in need of treatment abroad,
  • Those studying abroad,
  • People with humanitarian cases
  • and sports teams.

GCC citizens and non-Saudi residents with valid residency or visitor visas are allowed to enter the nation from September 15, provided that they are proven to be Covid-19 negative.
