Saudi Arabia Allows Indian Healthcare Workers To Return To Kingdom

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) on Thursday in a circular said that Saudi Arabia is now permitting healthcare workers and their families to come from India.

A new circular issued by GACA on Thursday states that “All Airlines operating in the airports of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including general aviation” to excluding health practitioners in India with their families from the suspension of travel To/From countries where the Covid-19 virus has an outbreak.

The Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia Share the circular from the official Twitter handle and said “Some good news after Mission’s efforts. Saudi Arabia is now permitting healthcare workers and their families to come from India. The embassy is continuing with its efforts to open flights for all Indian Nationals.”

This comes after Deputy Chief of Mission Mr. N Ram Prasad held discussions with the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) team on Wednesday regarding the lifting of the travel ban, Air Bubble, and early resumption of flights between India and Saudi Arabia.

Now, there are high chances that Saudi Arabia will lift the travel ban and allowing all categories of Indians to travel to the kingdom very soon.

Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) on 23rd September has suspended flights to and from India due to the rising number of Covid-19 positive cases.

Later the GACA has allowed outbound flights from Saudi Arabia to India under the Vande Bharat Mission.

Currently, Air India Express is operating flights from Saudi Arabia’s Dammam, Jeddah, and Riyadh to India’s Amritsar, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kannur, Kochi, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Trivandrum under the Vande Bharat Mission Phase 7.
