“We are open for all!” – was the welcome message for the citizen of India planning to visit Russia, pertaining to all visa categories, as two new Russia visa centres officially opened doors in Mumbai and New Delhi in March.

Inauguration of the Russia Visa Centre in Mumbai was held by the guest of honour, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Mumbai, Mr Aleksei Surovtsev, in the presence of Mr Vivek Sharma, Regional Head, Asia and Turkey, RVC and Ms Anastasiya Sinha Roy, Centre Manager RVC in Mumbai.

Mr. Surovtsev’s patronage and all-around support to the development of ties between Russia and India and promotion of Russian tourism are well known, and in the inaugural speech, he expressed strong assurance that Indian tourists are most welcome in Russia.

Being one of the few countries ready to welcome all categories of Indian travelers this season, Russia as a destination becomes even more attractive for the simplicity of the visa application process, which was not affected by the new Covid regulations.

All you need is a passport and a letter of invitation, and you are good to go (do not forget your pre-flight Covid test, though). Working in close tandem with consular missions, Russia Visa Centres in India remain open 9 to 5, Monday to Friday for submission and consultations, with a dedicated call centre to answer all customer queries.

Greeting representatives of leading travel agencies, Mr. Surovtsev could not but emphasize that absolutely all visa categories are being issued at the moment, and flights by Aeroflot and Air India are available for booking. Mr. Sharma, from his side, gave assurance of seamless service with all protective measures in place, to ensure applicants’ comfort and safety.

Keeping in mind pandemic impact, the latest addition to the visa centres portfolio is the postal application – an increasingly popular service of applying from home. Other exclusive services offered for smooth customer experience include travel insurance by leading Russian company Rosgosstrakh (which includes coverage of COVID cases and offers local contacts for support in Russia), HIV tests for work and student visas, documents pre-check, premium lounge, and many others, to expedite and simplify the application process and make sure your trip to Russia goes as per plan.
