Indian Railways may start operating all trains from April 1, 2021! Yes, you read it right. Not only this, but Railways have also completed preparations for this, says a media report.

  • According to the report, 250+ trains were added in January 2021 alone and more will be added gradually.
  • The decision will cover all types of trains including general, Shatabdi and Rajdhani. Almost all suburban or metro trains have also come back on track.

Railways had suspended all passenger trains in March 2020 coronavirus induced national lockdown to fight against Covid 19 pandemic.

The Railways have been increasing the number of train services over the past few months with more than 65% trains now running across the country.

Currently, however, only COVID-19 special trains are running and those trains’ fare is also high. If everything goes according to the plan, the government will start all trains soon.
