The second wave of coronavirus is now starts affecting Indian Railways also, the western railways has cancelled 19 special trains till further orders. The decision comes due to low passenger load amid the huge spike of coronavirus cases in the country.
The railways have already canceled 28 pairs (56 Trains) of long-distance special train services due to poor occupancy.
2 trains were canceled on 9 May. From today till May 16, 17 more trains will be canceled till further orders.
Due to a reduction in passenger demand in view of the COVID-19 situation, some more special trains have been canceled till further advice, said western Railways in a social media post.
According to a press release issued by Sumit Thakur- Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Rly, details of the special trains which have been canceled are as under

It must be noted that recently the North Western Railway (NWR) has also canceled 40 trains due to the situation resulting from COVID-19 and low passenger load.
