Visa Update: Qatar to Resume Free Visa On Arrival for Travellers Starting Dec 24

The Civil Aviation Authority of Qatar on Thursday in a communication to all airlines informed that entry into the State of Qatar through all airports will revert to pre-existing procedures as of December 23, 2022.

However, there is an exception for Hayya Card holders, who will not be able to enter the country until further notice, with the exception of Hayya organizers. This suspension will take effect on December 23, 2022.

All other visitors will be able to enter the State of Qatar using the same procedures as before. This means that visitors from approximately 95 countries can now obtain a free visa on arrival starting December 24, 2022.

Travellers from eligible countries can now obtain a visa waiver upon arrival in Qatar by presenting a valid passport valid for at least six months and a confirmed onward or return ticket. There is no need to make any prior visa arrangements.

However, those who want to stay in Qatar must have a valid hotel reservation for the duration of their stay.

1. Qatar Free Visa On Arrival For 90 Days

According to an update issued by the aviation authority, Nationalities of around 40 countries can obtain a free visas on arrival for a period of (90) days which cannot be extended, and under the following conditions:

  1. Valid passport for at least six months.
  2. Confirmed return ticket.
  3. Confirmed hotel reservation in one of the country’s hotels during the visit period.

2. Qatar Free Visa On Arrival For 30 Days

Nationals of the countries and regions listed below are eligible for a visa waiver, allowing them to stay in Qatar for up to 30 days on a single or multiple trips. This waiver is valid for 30 days after it is issued and can be extended for another 30 days.

On arrival in Qatar, present a valid passport with at least six months validity and a confirmed onward or return ticket to obtain the waiver.

3. Qatar Free Visa On Arrival For India, Pakistan, Thai, Ukraine and Iran Nationals

According to the update travellers from India, Pakistan, Thailand and Iran can now obtain a free visa on arrival and stay in Qatar for a maximum stay of (30) days. Similarly, Ukrainian nationals can obtain a free visa on arrival for a maximum stay of (90) days or according to the hotel reservation and under the following conditions:

  • Valid passport for at least six months.
  • Confirmed return ticket.
  • Confirmed hotel reservation through the “Discover Qatar” website only.

It is worth noting here that Hotel reservations from other websites are not accepted.
