Qatar Airways has introduced the release of its 100th aircraft to feature ‘Super Wi-Fi’ high-speed connectivity.
Qatar Airways currently has the most aircraft in Asia, Africa and the Middle East with the fastest internet service on board in its 100th amazing Wi-Fi enabled aircraft.
The service enables travelers on board to stay connected with family, friends, and colleagues using the fastest wireless broadband in the sky.
The A7-ALC-registered Airbus A350-900 is the 100th in a Qatar Airways fleet to use the award-winning GX Aviation innovation from global mobile satellite communications provider Inmarsat to integrate the amazing high-speed Wi-Fi service.
The provider has been rolled out across the airline’s fleet, but since its unveiling in 2018, has enabled millions of travelers to access the internet, check social media, watch videos and more while relaxing on board.
On flights equipped with GX Aviation, Qatar Airways travelers can get nearly an hour of unrestricted access to excellent Wi-Fi service, with both the option to purchase a full-flight direct exposure if more internet space is needed.
His Excellency Akbar Al Baker, Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Airways Group, said: “As a global innovation leader in aviation, Qatar Airways now also operates one of the youngest and perhaps most technically sophisticated fleets in the clouds. While many airlines are reducing their WiFi offer, Qatar Airways is expanding this offer.
“With our friends and loved ones much more important than ever in these troubled times, we are excited to partner with Inmarsat and GX Aviation technology to bring high-speed Super Wi-Fi to the people aboard our fleet offer as one aspect of Qatar Airways’ exceptional five-star service. “
Philip Balaam, President of Inmarsat Aviation, said: “Qatar Airways seems world-renowned and offers an outstanding in-flight experience that is loved by millions of loyal travelers around the world. We were already glad that with a sizeable fleet of the airline, our GX Aviation in-flight broadband was such an essential element of such an experiment.
The feedback from travelers was now enormously optimistic, as with the provider, which can be reached on 100 aircraft, even more, people could enjoy the great connection in the sky.”
Qatar Airways, several award-winning airlines, was named “World’s Best Airline” by the Skytrax-managed World Airline Awards 2019.
