Qatar Airways Introduces Additional Safety Measures for Passengers and Crew

Qatar Airways has increased its health and safety measures on board by introducing new personal protective equipment (PPE) for customers and cabin crew.

The airline’s additional measures include offering face shields and protective equipment for all passengers and a new protective clothing for cabin crew.

The disposable face mask will be available in two standard sizes – one for adults and one for children. The airline featured Oryx Kids Club mascots on the children’s face shields as part of their design.

For people arriving from Hamad International Airport (HIA), Face Shields are distributed at the gates at other destinations and passengers can get their face shields at the check-in counters

All Qatar Airways passengers receive a free protection set on board. In a ziplock bag you will find a disposable surgical face mask, large powder-free disposable gloves and an alcohol-based hand disinfectant gel.

Business Class customers will also be offered an additional 75 ml disinfectant gel tube.

  • In addition to goggles, gloves and a mask, Qatar Airways has also introduced new disposable protective clothing for cabin crew that is placed over their uniforms.

Economy Class passengers must wear a face mask in addition to their face mask or cover throughout the flight, unless they are served their meals or drinks.

Business-class customers are asked to wear their face shield and mask on board at their own discretion as they enjoy more space and privacy.

Parents who fly with children should advise them to continue wearing their PPE throughout the trip, although children under the age of two are not recommended to wear face protection and face masks or covers. When boarding and alighting, all passengers must wear their face masks or covers and face shield.
