Planning To Travel Thailand? Checkout Updated Entry Requirements From July 01

If you are planning a trip to Thailand this summer, you must be aware of the Thailand Pass and compulsory medical insurance requirements set out by the Royal Thai Govt for foreign travellers.

But now, the Thai Govt has decided to end the requirement of the Thailand Pass and mandatory $10,000 health insurance for international visitors entering the country effect from July 1, 2022.

So, the country is welcoming all travellers with proof of either a certificate of vaccination or a pre-arrival negative RT-PCR or professional ATK test result.

In addition, all countrywide Covid-19-related restrictions, such as the wearing of masks outside and the prohibition of serving alcoholic beverages to diners, have been lifted in line with the country’s goal to reduce Covid-19 to endemic status in July.

Thailand Entry Requirements From July 01

According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the following guidelines will go into effect from 1 July 2022, with specific requirements for vaccinated and unvaccinated/not fully vaccinated travellers from all countries/territories with scheduled arrivals from this date.

1. Pre-Arrival Requirements

Vaccinated travellers must have the following documents for entering Thailand:

• A valid passport, or a border pass for arrivals via border checkpoints.
• A Certificate of COVID-19 Vaccination
  • Everyone 18 years of age and older must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 with an approved vaccine at least 14 days before travelling to Thailand.
  • Travellers 5-17 years of age travelling to Thailand unaccompanied must get vaccinated with at least 1 dose of an approved vaccine at least 14 days before travelling to Thailand. Those travelling with parents are exempt from this requirement.

Unvaccinated/not fully vaccinated travellers must have the following documents for entering Thailand:

• A valid passport, or a border pass for arrivals via border checkpoints.

2. On Arrival Requirements

All visitors to Thailand are subject to entrance screening, which includes a body temperature check, and must provide the necessary documentation to the immigration/health control officer in order to carry out the checks.

Once enter, the vaccinated travellers are free to travel anywhere in the kingdom.

Arrivals by land using a border pass are limited to a stay of three days in the designated zones only.

Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated travellers who can provide certification of a negative report from an RT-PCR test or professional ATK within 72 hours of travel will also be accepted and are allowed to go anywhere in the kingdom.

3. During the Stay

Both vaccinated and unvaccinated/partially vaccinated travellers are recommended to strictly adhere to the health and safety regulations when visiting Thailand. Travellers should get checked if they exhibit symptoms similar to Coronavirus. If they test positive, they must get the necessary medical treatment.

The following pre-arrival guidelines are applicable to international visitors arriving before July 1, 2022:

Vaccinated travellers must have the following documents for entering Thailand:

• A valid passport or a Border Pass for arrivals via border checkpoints.
• A Thailand Pass (via https://tp.consular.go.th/) (Thais are exempt from this requirement.) Once all essential details have been completed via the system, the QR code will be automatically issued (no waiting time)
• An insurance policy with coverage no less than US$10,000. Thais and foreign expatriates under Thailand’s national healthcare coverage are exempt from this requirement.
• A Certificate of COVID-19 Vaccination
  • Everyone 18 years of age and older must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 with an approved vaccine at least 14 days before travelling to Thailand.
  • Travellers 5-17 years of age travelling to Thailand unaccompanied must get vaccinated with at least 1 dose of an approved vaccine at least 14 days before travelling to Thailand. Those travelling with parents are exempt from this requirement.
  • Travellers with a history of COVID-19 infection who have recovered by medical treatment, and travellers who have received at least one dose of an approved vaccine post-infection must have a certificate of COVID-19 recovery.

Unvaccinated/not fully vaccinated travellers must have the following documents for entering Thailand:

• A valid passport or a Border Pass for arrivals via border checkpoints.
• A Thailand Pass (via https://tp.consular.go.th/) (Thais are exempt from this requirement.) Once all essential details have been completed via the system, the QR code will be automatically issued (no waiting time)
