Oman Visa-Free Entry For Tourists From 103 Countries; Full List, Details Here

Tourists from over 103 countries can now visit Oman for up to 14 days without a visa, with an option to extend their stay.

In a bid to boost its tourism industry in the country, Oman has announced visa-free entry for up to 14 days for tourists from as many as 103 countries, local media reported.

Oman Visa-Free Entry

The Royal Oman Police (ROP) confirmed that tourists from the following countries can enter the country without a visa for up to 14 days.

Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Colombia, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Paraguay, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States of America, Uruguay and Venezuela

Apart from the countries mentioned above, Indian tourists can also obtain a visa on arrival, provided they have an entry visa from the US, Canada, the United Kingdom, Schengen countries, Japan, or have a resident permit of one of the GCC countries, and work in a profession approved by the Oman government.

Other than India, travellers from 29 countries are also permitted to enter Oman with a Visa on Arrival.

These countries include Armenia, Azerbaijan, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Albania, Laos, Kyrgyzstan, Mexico, Vietnam, Bhutan, Guatemala, Belarus, Cuba, Panama, Peru, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kazakhstan, Maldives, Jordan, Tunisia, Algeria, Mauritania, Morocco, and Egypt.

Extension of stay and application for e-visa

Tourists from the 103 countries have the option of extending their visa-free stay for more than 14 days for a fee. Following the specified period, citizens of these countries must apply online for a one-month e-visa for a fee of OMR 20.

Such travellers can also apply for a one-year multi-entry visa if their stay on each visit is less than a month and certain conditions are met.

Boosting the tourism industry

The decision to allow visa-free entry was made to help Oman’s tourism industry. According to the National Centre for Statistics and Information, the Sultanate of Oman saw a 348% increase in tourists in 2022 compared to 2021, with 2.9 million tourists visiting Oman in 2022.

According to Mohammed Al Ghufaili, a top official at Omran Group, the growth can be attributed to integrated steps, some of which include free entry visas to more than 100 countries.
