According to a media report on Thursday, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that the Navi Mumbai International Airport will be operational by July 2024.
Once operational, Navi Mumbai International Airport will be Mumbai’s second international airport. The government has stated that it is making every effort to ensure that the facility is operational as soon as possible.
In February 2018, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the project’s foundation stone in Navi Mumbai.

The Maharashtra government is developing the upcoming greenfield airport through the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO).
The airport is being built by GVK Mumbai International Airport Limited in a public-private partnership with CIDCO.
The terminal’s design is inspired by India’s national flower, the Lotus, which represents purity and elegance. The futuristic design aims to seamlessly blend modernity and Indian ethos. Zaha Hadid’s architectural firm designed the airport.
