The Airports Council International’s (ACI) Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards have named Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) the ‘Best Airport over 40 million passengers’ in the Asia Pacific region for the year 2022.
This is the sixth year in a row that CSMIA has received this honour. The ASQ Awards are highly respected in the airport industry because they are based on passenger feedback.
CSMIA’s Sustainable Energy Transition
Mumbai Airport launched a first-of-its-kind Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) and Solar PV system as part of its efforts to become a 100% sustainable green energy-consuming airport. In addition, the airport installed fast charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs) and welcomed over 45 EVs.
Renovated General Aviation Terminal Facility
In addition, the CSMIA unveiled its newly renovated General Aviation terminal facility for private jets, which redefines luxury travel in Mumbai.
Furthermore, the Mumbai International Airport launched the ‘FASTag Car Park’ to simplify the parking payment system and reduce dwell time.
Spokesperson’s Statement
A spokesperson for CSMIA expressed delight at receiving the 2022 Airport Service Quality Award for the ‘Best Airport over 40 million passengers category in Asia-Pacific. The spokesperson thanked passengers for their valuable feedback and assured them of CSMIA’s commitment to providing excellent customer service.
The spokesperson also highlighted that this recognition reflects the airport’s dedication to creating a seamless, eco-friendly travel experience for passengers while maintaining its position as a leading airport in the world.
ASQ Surveys
Airport Service Quality (ASQ) surveys are conducted worldwide, and passengers are interviewed on the day of travel to rate airport services. CSMIA has been a trailblazer in bringing new technological innovations to market, and in 2021 received ACI’s ‘The Voice of the Customer’ award.
Six times in a row, CSMIA has been named Best Airport by Size and Region in the over 40 million passenger category, cementing its position as a leading airport in the Asia Pacific region.
