What is a Professional Visit Pass (PVP)?

A Professional Visit Pass (PVP) is a temporary work pass for foreign professionals with recognized qualifications or specialized skills. It allows them to:

  • Enter Malaysia and provide services or undergo practical training with a Malaysian company on behalf of an overseas company.
  • Stay in the country for a period of up to 12 months.

Note: PVP holders are not eligible to apply for a Dependant Pass.

Updated List of Required Documents for PVP Applications

Applicants must now provide only six essential documents, making the PVP application process simpler and faster for foreign professionals seeking temporary entry into Malaysia.

  • Copy of Passport: All pages, with at least six blank pages.
  • Application Letter from Sponsor: A formal request letter from the sponsoring company.
  • Bonds:
    • Personal Bond for all nationalities (except Chinese and Bangladeshi).
    • Security Bond for Chinese and Bangladeshi applicants only.
  • Letter of Award (LOA) or Contract: Proof of employment or project agreement.
  • Memorandum of Understanding (MoU): If applicable, between the employer and employee.
  • Supporting Documents: If relevant, such as:
    • For installation, maintenance, or repair of machinery.
    • For external experts in mining activities.
    • For aeroplane simulator testers.
    • For hotels processing Student Under Practical Training applications.

Documents No Longer Required

Several documents have been removed from the PVP application requirements, reducing the administrative burden and streamlining the process for applicants.

Process to Apply for the Professional Visit Pass (PVP)

2. Submit the Application: Submit the complete set of documents to the Malaysian Immigration Department or through the official online portal, as instructed by your sponsor.

3. Await Approval: The Malaysian Immigration Department will review the application. Ensure all documents are correct and complete to avoid delays.

4. Receive the PVP: Once approved, the Professional Visit Pass will be issued, allowing you to enter and work temporarily in Malaysia for up to 12 months.

5. Comply with Regulations: Follow all guidelines and conditions set by the PVP, as failure to comply may result in penalties or the revocation of the pass.
