Malaysia e-Visa Website Went Down Again, Travellers to Apply Visa In-Person

Travellers planning to visit Malaysia are once again in a dilemma, as the official website of Malaysia e-Visa is going under maintenance once again and unavailable for issuing new e-Visas.

This laid travellers in a difficult situation as they were only left with the option of applying for a Single-entry visa in person. This means that travellers must now personally hand over their visa applications at the Malaysian Embassy or Consulates in order to obtain a Malaysian visa.

In the case of Indian visitors, visa applications must now be submitted at the Malaysian consulates in Chennai, Mumbai, or New Delhi.

It is important to note that, prior to going live a week ago, the website had been down for technical reasons and maintenance since September 26.

Travellers Must Apply Visa In-Person

Because the e-Visa or eNTRI visa is not available, travellers must apply in person for a Single-entry visa. This means that in order to obtain a Malaysian visa, travellers must now personally visit Malaysian consulates or embassies and submit their visa applications.

Furthermore, the Malaysian Embassy announced earlier this month that the issuance of group visas for tourists has been temporarily halted.

We have explained the entire procedure for applying for a Malaysian single-entry visa, including the documents required, visa fees, and all other details: Procedures for Applying for Malaysia Single-Entry Visa

Six Days for Malaysia Visa

The Malaysian High Commission stated that only individual visa applications are currently being processed; group submissions by agents/individuals acting on behalf of others will not be accepted for the time being.

Applicants should be aware that the current visa processing time can take up to six (6) working days.

Bottomline

Until the article was published on October 26 (02:00 PM), the Malaysian Embassy’s e-Visa website was under maintenance, and there was no update on when it would reopen.

So, if your trip to Malaysia is in the next 10-12 days, we recommend that you apply for a Single-entry visa in person. If your travel date is after 15 days, you can wait up to a week before applying for the Visa in person.
