Jetstar Asia Passengers Allowed To Transit Again Via Singapore

Jetstar Asia customers travelling from six Southeast Asian cities will be able to transit via Singapore to nine onward destinations from 1 December 2020.

Jetstar Asia passengers arriving on a Jetstar Asia (3K) flight from Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Phnom Penh can transit through Singapore Changi Airport to another city currently served by Jetstar Asia, if their connection is within 48 hours.

The move follows the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore’s (CAAS) announcement earlier in the year that connectivity had been reintroduced, allowing Singaporeans to travel abroad for essential activities and for foreigners to enter and transit through the country.

Transiting customers will be required to book the full journey on one booking and must check with the relevant authorities they meet the entry requirements for their final destination as restrictions may apply.

In addition, to ensure the safety of all customers, the following measures have been introduced:

• Transit passengers must wear a wristband, provided at port of origin check-in, to allow identification by airport and airline staff throughout their journey
• On board, transit passengers will be seated at the front of the aircraft and will disembark first
• On arrival in Singapore, transit passengers will be met by airport staff and guided to a Transit Holding Area or Transit Hotel
• Transit passengers with a tight connection time will be ushered to the departure gate directly

When the onward flight is ready for boarding, transit passengers will be escorted to their departure gate and ushered to a designated zone before boarding and will board the aircraft after all other passengers

Due to the unilateral reopening of borders to Vietnam, these measures will not apply to transit passengers arriving from Vietnam. However, all passengers arriving in Singapore must wear a mask at all times and practice social distancing.
