Japan Airlines (JAL) has unveiled an exciting promotion offering free domestic flights to select international travelers. The offer is designed to create a seamless travel experience across Japan, encouraging visitors to explore more of the country’s hidden gems beyond the usual tourist hotspots.

Discover Japan’s Scenic Regions with Free Flights

With a domestic network spanning 64 airports and 133 routes, Japan Airlines hopes this initiative will inspire travelers to venture off the beaten path.

Popular regions like Kyoto, with its 17 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and Hokkaido in the north, known for its breathtaking landscapes, are just a few examples.

For adventure enthusiasts, Kagoshima, often called the gateway to Japan’s southern islands, offers some of the best outdoor activities in the country.

Reducing Overtourism

This promotion is also part of Japan Airlines’ effort to reduce overtourism in popular destinations like Mount Fuji, which has implemented entry fees and visitor caps to manage the growing number of tourists. By providing free domestic flights, the airline aims to spread visitors more evenly across the country.

How to Qualify for Free Domestic Flights

To take advantage of the free domestic flights, travelers need to book both an international flight and a domestic flight on the same reservation with Japan Airlines.

The promotion is currently available to travelers from the US, Canada, Mexico, Thailand, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand.

Starting on September 25, the offer will extend to travelers from Vietnam and the Philippines, followed by Indonesia, India, China, and Taiwan on September 27. Japan Airlines also plans to expand the offer to additional countries later this month.

Explore Japan Like Never Before

This promotion offers international travelers a unique opportunity to experience Japan’s diverse regions at no extra cost, making it easier to discover the country’s rich culture, stunning landscapes, and hidden treasures.
