While the states are extending lockdown instead of opening to curb the spread of COVID-19, the center is determined to unlocking.
As per the report, SOPs for resuming international flights are under process.
International flights have been suspended since March 25, 2020.
However, the Civil Aviation Ministry has planned several times to resume international flights, but couldn’t.
Moreover, the center decided to talk on this topic in July but now again it is postponed to August, September.
However, the ministry is preparing a detailed policy for resuming international flights it would be possible.
Age restriction
According to a report, there will be an age limit for flying in and out of India – whenever that starts. Seniors are probably not allowed to fly initially.
COVID-19 Negative Test
All international travelers visiting India will have to provide a negative test report of the last 48-72 hours.
Mandatory antigen test on arrival
As soon as foreign travelers reach an airport in India, they have to undergo a compulsory testing, which is Rs 500, at their own expense.
Also, they will have to wait for the test result to get approval.
Quarantine at own expense
If any foreign traveler tests positive at the airport, he or she will have to undergo quarantine at his or her own expense.
While these additional guidelines have been proposed for arriving passengers, India is in talks with the United States, France, the United Kingdom, and Germany in addition to the standards norms for social distancing and non-contact checking to conclude bilateral agreements to resume international flights.
