IndiGo Receives IATA Membership Certificate

In-line with the recent announcement of IndiGo joining IATA, the airline received its membership certificate in Gurgaon yesterday. Conrad Clifford, Regional vice president, Asia Pacific, IATA, given the certificate to Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, President and COO, IndiGo at their office premises in Gurgaon.

The membership can facilitate IndiGo align with world practices developed by IATA and additional strengthen the airline’s partnership portfolio.

Commenting on this, Prock-Schauer, said, “This could be a strategic milestone because the airline steers its focus towards international enlargement. Being a member of IATA can facilitate IndiGo grow its network quicker by building relationships with alternative airlines when the recently proclaimed codeshare with Qatar Airways and nearly a year-long productive partnership with Turkish Airlines. The airline presently operates near to 1500 daily flights to 60 domestic and 23 international destinations, with a fleet of 247 aircraft. IndiGo has been additional strengthening its position with fast domestic and international expansion this year.
