IndiGo Ranked Among the Safest Low-Cost Airlines in the World

Indian low cost carrier Indigo ranked at fifth position in the list of safest airline in the low-cost airlines category. The ranking has been given by AirlineRatings.com

AirlineRatings.com, is the world’s only safety and product rating website, to identify the top ten safest low-cost airlines for 2020 from the more than 400 airlines it monitors.

Air Arabia (UAE), Flybe (UK), Frontier (US), and HK Express (Hong Kong) are the other low-cost carriers in the top five. IndiGo is the Only Indian Company to Make the List.

IndiGo has been given seven out of seven stars in safety rating and four out of five stars in product rating.

Indigo have passed the stringent International Air Transport Association Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) and have excellent safety records.

As per Airline Rating website, IOSA is an internationally recognized and accepted evaluation system designed to assess the operational management and control systems of an airline. It looks at more than 1000 audit parameters and airlines are re-evaluated every two years.

“Those LCC’s that have decided to use IOSA show an additional commitment to safety,’’ said AirlineRatings editor-in-chief Geoffrey Thomas.

IndiGo, which is India’s largest airline, has over 250 planes in its feet and has a market share of over 47 per cent. In the overall category, Australia’s Qantas was named the safest airlines in the world.
