IndiGo, India’s leading carrier, has announced the launch of flights between Bhubaneswar and Dubai. The maiden international flight from Bhubaneswar is scheduled to take off from Biju Patnaik International Airport on May 15, 2023.
This marks a significant step forward in the airline’s efforts to strengthen connectivity from the state of Odisha.
It is worth noting that the airline is working closely with the Odisha government to commence international operations from Bhubaneswar. Direct connectivity to aviation hubs like Dubai, Singapore, and Bangkok will help channel the huge potential for economic growth through enhanced accessibility.

IndiGo Bhubaneswar – Dubai Flight Schedule
According to the official website of IndiGo, the flights, numbers 6E 1487 and 6E 1488, will operate three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with effect from May 15, 2023.
The flight from Bhubaneswar to Dubai will depart at 18:30 and arrive at 21:45, while the return flight from Dubai to Bhubaneswar will depart at 11:25 and arrive at 17:20.

Affordable Fares and Inaugural Ticket Prices
The inaugural ticket prices for the Bhubaneswar-Dubai route have been set to start at ₹10,000 per single side journey and ₹20,000 for a round trip.
Mr Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales, at IndiGo, said that the airline has been at the forefront of enhancing international connectivity at affordable fares. This new direct flight will reduce the need for travellers to connect to international destinations through metro cities only. It will enable faster connectivity, and enhanced accessibility, and encourage trade and tourism in the state.
International Flight Operations to Two More Destinations
In addition to Dubai, international flight operations will also commence from Bhubaneswar to two more destinations – Singapore and Bangkok. Slots and other operational requirements are being finalized for these routes.
IndiGo recently won the bid to operate direct flights to these three important gateways. As per the agreement, IndiGo will operate direct flights from Biju Patnaik International Airport thrice a week.
