Indians can return to UAE once travel restrictions lifted – Aviation Minister

Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Saturday said UAE residents currently in India will be able to return to the country once Emirati authorities lifts the travel restrictions.

“A number of people holding valid residence permits of UAE have been approaching us to go back to the country.” Puri said in a Tweet

“It is up to the local authorities there to take a call on this,” he added. “Currently there are restrictions on the entry of foreign citizens in the UAE and a few other countries.”

In mid-May, it was announced that foreign expatriates holding residence visas can return to the UAE beginning on June 1.

To do so, visa holders must register with the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) through smartservices.ica.gov.ae. Once an email is entered, a verification email is sent to the applicant.
