The Indian Railways on Sep. 05 announced that it will start 80 new special trains (40 pairs) from Saturday 12th September and the booking of these trains has started from September 10.
As per Press Information Bureau (PIB), these trains will be in addition to the existing 30 special Rajdhani type and 200 Special Mail Express trains that are already operating. The Railways have started running these special trains after regular services were suspended in March due to the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) and subsequent lockdown.
Yadav said the railways will monitor all the trains that are currently in operation to determine which trains have a long waiting list.
